The County Treasurer serves as the Chief Financial Officer for San Jacinto County, responsible for managing the receipt, disbursement, and safeguarding of all county funds. In this role, the treasurer ensures that all financial operations are conducted with accuracy, transparency, and accountability.
The Treasurer also serves as the County's investment officer, overseeing the responsible investment of public funds and providing regular reports to the Commissioners Court. These efforts help protect taxpayer dollars and support the long-term financial stability of the county.
In addition to financial duties, the County Treasurer is responsible for overseeing Human Resources functions for San Jacinto County. This includes maintaining and updating personnel policies, ensuring compliance with state and federal employment laws, managing employee benefits, and supporting a professional, ethical, and legally compliant work environment for all county employees.
The responsibilities of the County Treasurer are defined by the Texas Local Government Code and may vary based on county size. However, the core mission remains the same: to serve the citizens of San Jacinto County with integrity, fiscal responsibility, and a commitment to public service.
It is an honor to serve the people of San Jacinto County. I remain dedicated to ensuring sound financial management and supporting a positive, law-abiding workplace for all county departments.
